Service Engineer vacancy at our centre in Thatcham, Berkshire

Your role will be to service, maintain and repair our hire fleet and customers' machines and carry out warranty work on agency products.

This is a permanent role, Monday – Friday, 45 hours per week.

You would work as part of a workshop based team in a very busy and changeable environment, whilst communicating well with their Parts, Hire and Sales departments. The right candidate must be adaptable with good problem-solving skills. The company will provide the successful candidate with excellent training opportunities.

 You will need the following skills / abilities for the role of workshop fitter / service engineer:

Experience in servicing and repairing various contractors’ plant equipment
Experienced in diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical systems
Trained to NVQ level 2 or 3 Plant Maintenance preferred (but not essential)
Work effectively within a team
Have a full clean driving licence 
Have your own tools

Depot Manager for CBL Bristol

We are seeking a Depot Manager for our depot in Portbury, Bristol, reporting to the Regional Director. 

A highly motivated individual with a proven track record in compact equipment hire, you will be responsible for managing and motivating an up and coming team and continually developing CBL’s business. 

CBL is a family run business, providing quality plant hire and sales for over 30 years to a loyal customer base.

The role would include:
• managing a team of 12 people, including the salesman;
• full responsibility for the P&L performance of the centre;
• maintaining high levels of customer service and ensuing our quality procedures are followed;
• asset management; and
• identifying new business opportunities and continuing to grow the hire business at the centre.

The hours are Monday to Friday 08:00 – 17:00 (42.5hrs per week).

Workshop Supervisor/Foreman required for CBL Saltash


This is a new full time/permanent role to support the Workshop Manager at our Saltash centre and working with him to assist the Depot Manager and Central Parts team in the smooth running of the depot, yard and workshop. Predominantly supervising the Engineers and overseeing the Service department.

The ideal candidate should have experience within the Construction Hire Industry and a customer service ethos. Knowledge on construction plant within the trade is essential. Experience in leading a team is preferable but not essential.
 
The successful candidate will be working alongside the engineers, based in the workshop assisting them with repairs and maintenance to various machinery used in the construction trade whilst helping to develop their careers through practice and training. You will also assist various department managers, helping them to achieve their targets, implement new and proven practices and provide support with their customer needs. The role will also require some field work on sites and to provide office cover when the need arises.
 
You will need to work well in a team and be self-motivated, work well under pressure whilst keeping customer service as your top priority and promoting a good health and safety culture. 
 
Training will be given where needed and there will be opportunities for promotion as well as other company benefits within this well established and respected business.

The hours are Monday to Friday 08:00 – 17:00 (42.5hrs per week) and a competitive salary related to experience is offered.

Trainee Parts Marketing Assistant (Construction Industry) required for CBL Saltash

This is an exciting full-time permanent position based in the busy Central Parts office, in Saltash, Cornwall, which supplies our 7 depots and customers locally, nationally and internationally with parts and consumables for construction machinery.

You will be reporting to the Central Parts Manager and working closely with the Central Parts Sales team and other Department Managers. Initially your role will involve all aspects of the parts department including; sales, admin, marketing, procurement and warehouse operating. With ‘on the job’ training being the primary focus, learning about our products, processes and people before leading to a national recognised qualification in Marketing and with the potential to make Trainee Parts Marketing Assistant your own and become an integral member of the national team.

Day to day duties will include liaising with internal and external customers in person and on the phone, general administration duties and filing, preparing marketing promotions, managing our social media presence, telesales and email campaigns to customers about specific promotions, research on the internet, updating and placing adverts on the internet, inputting sales information and coordinating delivery and product support with the depot teams.

This role will suit someone who is looking for a challenging and fast moving environment, with a lot of customer contact with a variety of customers from national civil engineers to local builders and traders.  The candidate must have excellent written and spoken English, a good telephone manner, creative Excel, Word and Outlook skills and an ability to work independently as well as part of the Central Parts team.

The hours are Monday to Friday 08:00 – 17:00 (42.5hrs per week) and you will receive excellent company benefits including life assurance and pension.

Experience is not essential, but an upbeat and creative personality is desirable.

This role will suit someone who is looking for a challenging and fast moving environment, with a lot of interpersonal contact with a variety of customers and suppliers, internationally, nationally and locally.  The candidate must have excellent written and spoken English, a confident telephone manner, Excel, Word and Outlook skills and an ability to work independently as well as part of the Central Parts team. 
 
The hours are Monday to Friday 08:00 – 17:00 (42.5hrs per week) and you will receive excellent company benefits including life assurance and pension. Experience is not essential, but an upbeat and assertive personality is desirable.
